Some of us choose not to eat meat, and this is why we do not get enough of it. Others of us don&#8217;t get our daily dose of protein becasue we don&#8217;t take the time to consider what we are eating. And of course, some people really just plain forget to care! Whatever the case, you should realize that it is important that you put protein into your body. Here are some great sources for protein.
<p />Of course, the best source of protein is meat. Of course, red meat &#8211; in addition to protein &#8211; adds a lot of fat and other stuff you might not like. Instead of red meat, think about adding more chicken and fish to your diet. Fish is one of the best things you can put into your body!
<p />Whether you eat meat or not, nuts are another excellent source of protein. One problem with nuts, however, is that they also have a lot of cholesterol in them, and they should not be eaten in large doses.
<p />In addition to these traditional sources of protein, there are plenty of non-traditional sources these days as well. If you want the benefits of protein along with the goodness of fruit, consider adding protein powder to a fruit smoothie. Such smoothies are easy to find at such smoothie shops as Jamba Juice and Smoothie King, and they are also easy to make at home. Protein bars are another good option. While these are not always as tasty as a protein smoothie, they are extremely easy to eat on the go. You can bring these with you anywhere, and you can eat them wherever you like!
<p />It does not matter if your protein is coming from meats and eggs or from nuts and protein bars, as long as you are getting your protein. The recommended amount of protein each day is 50 grams, and it sure does not hurt to get more than that. If you realize that you are not getting enough protein, figure out where you can make changes. In the long run, you will be happy that you did!
